Sammy

Hi, I am Mihai Alexandru, which in English would be Michael Alexander, but you can call me Mihai, Mike, Alex, Sam or Sammy – a decent enough nickname some friends gave me starting from my initials.

As the sub-title suggests I’m a whatever works man meaning that I think that everyone should do whatever makes them happy (just as long as it doesn’t make anyone else unhappy :) ). I write about the things that make me happy, the things that I do and the things that I like, and sometimes, but just sometimes, also the things that make me less happy – things that I wouldn’t do and that I don’t like.

And because the title of this page is About, bare with me as I go through this really quick…

I have over 10 years of experience in software engineering and design, and I’ve worked with some great technology companies developing, owning and operating somewhat successful software products, websites and web services.

During this time my job description evolved from that of a junior software developer to that of software engineer and solution specialist, and my role evolved from team player to team leader to product and project manager. I have been actively involved with teams from Romania, France, The UK, Spain, India and The United States and I’ve always made sure that I learn as much ass I can from the diversity of my environment.

But as much as I’ve enjoyed being part of great teams and working together with stellar professionals, I enjoy creating new and wonderful products and services or improving existing ones even more.

So, as of 2009 I’ve partnered up with talented and ambitious youngsters and we’re taking a shot at making it on our own.

You can find out more about me and my work here on my blog, obviously :) and also by following me on twitter @smihaialex or by connecting with me on facebook at facebook.com/smihaialex, or on LinkedIn at linkedin.com/in/smihaialex

I was also quick to jump on the Google+ band-wagon and my profile is available for you to add to your circles at gplus.to/smihaialex

See ya!

PS: I forgot to mention that I’m married to this wonderful woman named Cristina and that we’re about to become parents… of identical twins. Yaaay!
